Welcome to Brother-to-Brother Ministries

Brother-to-Brother Ministries is the only Catholic organization dedicated to assisting Catholic men in Catholic faith formation through one to one mentoring and discipleship.

We do this by meeting individually with men to discover where they are on their Catholic faith journey and determine how we can help them develop a deeper personal relationship with Jesus.

Together, we develop goals that will help them make progress toward deeper Christian maturity and service to others as men of Jesus Christ.

Book Review - Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist

Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist
Dr. Brant Pitre, New York, Doubleday, 2011

In early 2011, I listened to a CD from Lighthouse Catholic Media (www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org) titled Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Dr. Brant Pitre, a professor of sacred scripture at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. Intrigued by the CD I visited Dr. Pitre’s website and discovered that he had recently published a book with the same title. I purchased the book from CatholicProductions.com, read it twice, and developed a 21-page outline which I use to teach about the Jewish roots of the Eucharist.

What I've Learned Through Mentoring

Last Updated on Friday, 17 August 2012 08:15

In the past year, I have been under the teaching of Rick Lentz, who is director-mentor of Brother-to-Brother Ministries. There has been much discussion in reference to how we understand God's word, the Holy Bible. One of the great revelations for me has been to understand that what one reads in the New Testament must be read through the lens of our Jewish heritage, which is found in the Old Testament. Everything Jesus spoke of has to be connected to his heritage, so we must be connected to those same roots. If we are not, then our understanding is not completely grounded, and we lose the deeper meaning of Jesus' teachings and directions.

Why do Catholics confess to a priest? Where is that in the Bible? Would Jesus approve?

Brother-to-Brother Ministries in Raton, NM, February 3-4

Last Updated on Tuesday, 21 February 2012 09:37 Written by Brother Rick

As part of the Brother-to-Brother Ministries mission, we travel to parishes around the country to hold workshops for Catholic men on how to be active Christian leaders, how to live Christ-centered lives, and how to mentor/disciple other men on their faith journeys. Additionally Bob Tomlinson and Rick Lentz give a powerful joint testimony on the Power of Forgiveness, and Rick speaks on the Importance of Forgiveness for our personal healing and salvation.

Recently, Fr. Daniel Balizan invited the Brother-to-Brother Ministries team to come to St. Patrick-St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raton, NM on February 3-4, 2012. He had a two-fold purpose in mind when he made the invitation. The first was to prepare parishioners for Lent by having Rick and Bob give their joint testimony to the power of forgiveness, and to have Rick speak about the importance of forgiveness on Friday evening. The second was to have Dennis and Rick encourage the men of the parish to get involved in adult faith formation and become more active leaders in their families, the parish, and the world through the Active Christian Leadership and Living a Christ-Centered Life presentations on Saturday morning.

THE BISHOP'S VOICE: We will not comply with HHS mandate

Friday, 03 February 2012 18:30

BishopSheridanWebBy MOST REV. MICHAEL J. SHERIDAN, S.Th.D.

As I did just a few weeks ago, I once again alert you to an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith.

The federal government, which claims to be “of, by, and for the people,” has just dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people — the Catholic population — and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faithful.

Catholic Discipleship and Mentoring with Brother-to-Brother Ministries

Just what is it that we do through Brother-to-Brother Ministries?

We form men in Catholic discipleship and mentor men on their faith journeys and help them develop a deeper personal relationship with Jesus. We do this in the following ways:

  1. Bible Scripture study, verse memorization and applying biblical principles in our daily lives.
  2. Study of the Catholic Church Catechism and how to live out our Catholic faith as men of Jesus.
  3. One to one discipleship meetings and spiritual direction.
