Workshop Our Lady of Fatima Parish

On August 29, 2009, Bob, Dennis Speer, and Rick were the featured speakers at a men's workshop at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Lakewood, Colorado. Bob and Rick led off with their joint testimony, The Power of Forgiveness, followed by small group discussions. Then Dennis gave a presentation on Active Christian Leadership which discusses Christian leadership in the family, the parish and society.

The key to being an active Christian leader is having made an adult faith-decision to be a life-long follower of Jesus Christ and being open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. In the afternoon, Rick's presentation covered the importance of one-to-one mentoring in building disciples. During his presentation, Rick asked one of the attendees to help him with a skit on how NOT to talk to someone about Jesus. The skit, entitled Let Me Tell You ABout Jesus, drew lots of laughter from the attendees.

At the end of the session, Bob and Dennis demonstrated how to invite a man into a mentoring relationship and how to conduct a mentoring session using Richard Cleveland's The Catholic Topical Memory System. We wish to thank Barry Metzentine and Father Jeff Wilborn for inviting us to Our Lady of Fatima Parish. We also want to thank Jesse and Jack Howard of Jesse Howard Productions for video and audio recording the workshop. We hope to have CDs and DVDs available by the end of October.
